BESS
Meet the Nominees
The following people have been nominated by their fellow contributors, and accepted the responsibility, to serve the interests of BESS during the coming year. A brief bio of each nominee has been posted to help you make a decision on which you would like to see on the BESS board.
Elections for the seven member BESS Board of Directors and the BESS Omsbudmans position will be held on Wednesday, November 17th at the Holiday Inn, Glen Burnie. As always, we encourage all contributors to participate, so send your nomination to the election czar and come vote at the annual business meeting. Complete rules can be found here.
Patty - board of directors
Patty has been a member of BESS since May of 2003 when she first moved to Maryland. Since joining BESS she has found a home and family within the group and is always willing to step to the plate to help out. She is an active member of the Education Team and Co-Moderator of the new Mix and Mingle SIG. She volunteered to design and layout the programs for the Bound By Love event this past Valentines Day. Patty holds BESS near and dear to her heart, she believes in the core goals of the Baltimore Education and Social Society. And sources say, she might even be a bit on the kinky side.
Tess - board of directors
Tess has been in the scene for a little over 2 years and has served as Vice Chair on the 2004 BESS board of directors. Her intentions remain the same; to serve the contributors of BESS, increase the number of active contributors and find out how to get people involved, educated and have fun while doing it. She has enjoyed the last year in being involved as team leader of the BESS Newcomers Team and starting the BESS Mix & Mingle SIG with Patty. The Mentor's list for newcomers is up to 70 members and the M&M; SIG is over 100 members since August 2004. If elected for 2005, Tess plans to continue the work with Newcomers and M&M; and increase the volunteers available to find their niche.
Lisa - board of directors
Lisa has been a part of the scene for 8 years and has been a member of BESS for 4 years. Her main goal in BESS is to assist in providing education in a safe, non-threatening environment. Currently she is the BESS education team leader, an active member of the BESS outreach team, and a sitting member of the 2004 BESS board of directors.
In the past, she has served as interim director of the BESS board, as well as leader of the outreach team. She also headed the planning committee for BESS' popular "Bound by Love" party this past Valentine's Day.
BESS is very important to Lisa and she believes in the mission of the Baltimore Educational and Social Society. By joining BESS she has found a home and a wonderful community who she's thankful to serve. She cherishes the friendships that she has made through BESS.
