BESS holds educational meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. These meetings are held from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and are followed by a social gathering at a local restaurant. Directions to BESS educational meetings can be found at the "Event" link to the left.
To offset the cost of renting the meeting space, there is a $5 per-contributor fee and a $7 Non-Contributor fee to attend the meeting.
In an effort to accommodate individuals who cannot attend Wednesday meetings, BESS provides Saturday evening education on a quarterly basis. Special "hands on workshops" are also a part of the BESS educational program. The number of attendees for hands on workshops will be limited, so RSVP early. Please consult the BESS events schedule for information on all BESS education and meeting topics.
The BESS educational program covers a wide variety of topics. The first meeting of the month will feature a lecture or panel discussion on various topics including safety, ethics, social etiquette, relationship issues, negotiation, and mentoring. The second meeting of the month will feature a demonstration that will allow attendees to learn practical BDSM skills, such as flogging, waxing, bondage, interrogation, and humiliation. All Wednesday meetings are open to anyone interested in learning about BDSM.
BESS Saturday, quarterly presentations and special hands on workshops are only open to BESS Contributors and their guests. Contributors may bring up to 4 Guests to any of these events.
BESS meetings are a safe place to learn about BDSM, share thoughts and ideas and to meet other individuals with similar interests. BESS meetings are not a place to troll for sexual partners. Unacceptable conduct at meetings, which includes, but is not limited to, making persistent, unwelcome advances toward another individual, will result in a warning, and then followed by expulsion, from the event.
BESS encourages the BDSM community to suggest future educational topics and presentations.
