At BESS Education Meetings and at Munches:
- Street-legal attire is expected in public spaces
- Conversation without play is the rule
At BESS Socials (Play Parties):
- Fetish-wear is acceptable but not required
- Nudity is acceptable but not required
- Furniture, such as spanking bencheds, crosses, slings, and cages, is for everyone’s use
- Play occurs but participation is optional
- Scenes are in public areas and may be watched
- There are “Party Rules” that must be followed
- Attendees are requested to bring something for the community food table
- Cleaning supplies are provided and players are expected to clean public equipment after use
- Dungeon Monitors (DMs) are present to enforce the rules and watch out for safety issues
At “Public” Dungeons: Same as for BESS Socials, except the following:
- Sex is acceptable at some (not all) events but attendees are not required to participate
- Some venues offer private or semi-private areas
- There are “Dungeon Rules” that vary with venue
- DMs are often present (but not at all events)
