Wednesday Mar, 5th	BESS Orientation Meeting Orientation meetings ensure that you understand the basic ethical values of the Baltimore BDSM community. They also provide information about BESS and gives you an opportunity to ask any questions that you might have. The orientations are held at the same location as the BESS meetings and there is no need to reserve in advance. Just be sure to arrive promptly at 7:00pm and inform the BESS staff that you wish to attend an orientation. Time:  7:00pm to 7:30pm. Cost:  Free of charge Click for directions or a map. Wednesday Mar, 5th	Topic: How to Maintain a Long Term Relationship With: � Master Don and orja There are many nuances involved in relationships in the world of BDSM. There are ups and there are downs. Commitment is first and foremost of any relationship and one with a M/s or D/s component is not all that different. A long term relationship is not always easy to maintain and requires a great deal of communication among many other things. Master Don and orja invite you to join them to hear how their relationship has survived, grown, and flourished over the years even with the generational gap that exists. This presentation will also be interactive in that questions and comments from the audience will be encouraged and welcomed. Master Don and his slave orja : Master Don and his slave orja have been in a long term committed, 24/7, relationship for the past twelve years. Master Don has been in the lifestyle for 50 plus years. orja has been involved for the last thirteen years. Both are currently members of Black Rose and BESS. They are involved in several private discussion groups where M/s and D/s relationships are the primary focal points of those groups. Both Master Don and orja believe that a long term relationship with a M/s or D/s component is possible and have maintained a successful relationship for the last twelve years. orja has presented at the Master/slave Conference 2007 and both were presenters at BRXX. Wednesday Mar, 19th	Topic: Pony Play 101 With: � Carrie and Luna Intro to Pony Play � Carrie and Luna, along with Mystic Storm (the ponie) will be giving a brief overview of pony play. The class will cover the different roles of peoples involvement, the different types of ponies, options for tack, and how to discover your inner pony. As well as basic steps and things to help you get started. Carrie: Carrie, has been an active member in the BDSM community since 2000. Carrie had her own biological horse with which she did extensive training, going on to be an award winning team on the show circuit. Carrie's experiences with her own biological horse really fed into her natural desire and instinct as a human pony. Carrie's inner pony is Mystic Storm. Mystic Storm is an award winning pony with 5+ years of training. She is a show pony who loves to prance around the show ring and show off her stuff. But when she isn't showing she enjoys seeking out mischief and playing with (or intimidating) other ponies. Mystic Storm is a very spirited and feisty pony who is known for her expert shin kicking and her desire to bite when unhappy. Luna: Luna has been exploring, learning and living a BDSM/Leather lifestyle for the past five years. She identifies within the lifestyle as a submissive and enjoys many forms of play and service. Luna started training as a groom, then quickly picked up handling ponies and moved naturally into training. As well as training she enjoys being very active in the Leather/BDSM communities and volunteering for different events and organizations. Together with Mystic Storm she is working on doing their own presentations about pony play and relationships between trainer and pony as a variety of other topics. Luna met the pony Mystic Storm at a Midwest Area Pony Play event in Ann Arbor, MI �03 and they have worked together on and off since. Each has won ribbons and/or awards with other ponies or trainers but still enjoyed working together when time allowed. Two years ago they decided to become pony and trainer and work more steadily to this end. They also enjoy teaching others about, and exposing them to, the art of pony play. Their dream would be to see ponies running free and being accepted at every event where possible. Time:  7:30 to 9:00 pm. Cost:  $5 for Contributors, $10 for Non Contributors. Saturday Mar, 29th	Topic: Hands On Bootblacking With: � Sarah Sloane Have you always wanted to work on boots, but never felt like you were ready to do it for the person you wanted to impress? Or are you one of those people who have the basics, but aren't sure that you're doing things "right"? Maybe you're entranced by the idea of bootblacking but have no idea what all the steps are, and it feels overwhelming. If any of those sound familiar, then this is the workshop for you! Bring yourself, your bootblacking supplies* (no matter how few or many), and your boots along to the class; we'll go over the basics of determining what kind of treatment various types of boots should receive, planning out how to clean & polish them, and how to get great results. This is definitely a hands-on class - plan to get your hands dirty, and/or your boots clean! *We strongly suggest that you bring at least saddle soap, cotton rags, a spray bottle of water, and shoe polish (black or neutral). Other items you might want to bring include a lighter or matches, toothbrush, leather conditioner, old pantyhose, polish brushes, a buffing brush, and anything else you would like to use to get the boots into great shape! Sarah Sloane: Sarah Sloane is a service oriented queer polyamorous sadomasochist from the Washington DC metro area. She is a BDSM / Polyamory / Sexuality educator who has been presenting for organizations and events all along the eastern half of the USA and into Canada for the past eight years; she also works with individuals to learn skills and techniques to enhance their lives. She shares her life with her partners, her leather family, and her house full of animals (3 cats, 2 rabbits, and her leather Daddy's dog, Jule). Time:  4:00 to 7:00 pm. Saturday Mar, 29th	BESS Social: It's time for BESS to party! Leathers, Boots, and Sexy Shoes! BESS is having its monthly social and all contributors and their guests are invited. FUNDRAISER ALERT: There will be bootblacking for tips during the social to benefit International Pony and Trainer titleholders carrie and Luna's travel fund! Time:  9:00pm to 2:00am.
