Don - Chair
Don's journey in the lifestyle began when he was eighteen years old and his journey of exploring and learning still continues to this day. He is also of the belief that we are never too old to acquire knowledge. He feels that there is much to learn by attending events sponsored by organizations such as BESS. As a retired educator, he appreciates the opportunity to help others explore, enjoy, and learn all they can in their exploration of BDSM.
Don is a member of a number of groups and organizations which includes MAsT DC Pan, BESS, Black Rose, MAsT-Baltimore, BESS M/s SIG, and the Northeast Dominants Forum, as well as several private discussion groups. He will be bringing the experience of many years in the lifestyle to BESS. He and his partner, orja, have been presenters/facilitators/panelists at BESS, Black Rose XX, NDDS Boot Camp, Master/slave Conference (2007 & 2008), MAsT Washington, and MAsT-Baltimore.
His professional experience that he feels would be beneficial as a BESS Board member includes being an officer (including president and vice president) in several organizations. He was president of his local union for fourteen years. For a number of years, he was a training and negotiations consultant for one of the largest unions in New Jersey. He was involved in volunteer community organizations as well.
He is the proud Master and owner of his cherished slave of thirteen years, orja.
Harvey
Harvey became a BESS Contributor in 2004 and was elected to the BESS Board for a tenure starting in January 2008.
His leadership experience includes several years as president of a condominium association, and as a member of the BESS Board he is open to evolutionary change while respecting tradition and precedent. He believes that decisions should be based on reasoned analysis, not emotional impulse, and that all aspects and possible ramifications of an issue should be thoroughly explored before reaching a conclusion.
Harvey has been active in the scene for 22 years. He has had scene-based relationships ranging from casual to committed, and he has coached individuals and couples in their explorations of the lifestyle. He first joined Black Rose in 1987 and has been a member of the Crucible since its beginning. Harvey completed BR's DM training and was a DM for The Rose Garden in Southern California in 1999-2000. He is a published author of stories that realistically depict the connections and activities of D/s and BDSM practitioners in an SSC/RACK context. Harvey and his life partner, becca, have shared a D/s relationship for more than 6 years.
Kathie
Kathie is one of those slave types with a sadistic toppy streak, who has been around the lifestyle for 13+ years now. She has had a chance to try a little bit of a lot of things, but she keeps coming back to corsets and bondage as her number 1 favorite things. Oh, and a little sensual sadism, too. You can find her on the first and third Wednesday of every month at the BESS education meetings - she's the BESS education coordinator. She is owned by her 2 dachshunds, a German shepherd puppy, and a cat.
Master Ivoree - Co-Chair
Master Ivoree has been active in the lifestyle for over five years, but has been dominant all of his adult life. He was a BESS contributer for several years, and attended nearly every monthly meeting in that time. He is back now after a hiatus due to living too far to make them. Master Ivoree and His girl, slave deekitten, are active in the MAsT Baltimore chapter and in the BESS M/s and Submissive SIGs (Master Ivoree goes to the dominant's munch during the submissive sig).
Master Ivoree (a.k.a. "Ralph White") wrote the book "BDSM Primer" in an effort to both communicate information that He wished someone had told Him way back when, and as an effort to entertain. He wants to make a positive impact on people who are new to the lifestyle, and often will take a one-on-one mentoring role when needed.
Master Ivoree lives in Germantown, Maryland with His slave-girl / fiance deekitten.
